Karen and I made an overnight trip to Annapolis and among other things attended our first “Death Cafe”. Yes.. this is a thing. They are happening all over the country. Hearing the title for the first time might evoke any number of thoughts and cause both curiosity and confusion. Just like that, you have to continue to read! The purpose of the Death Cafe is to stimulate conversation about death. It is an organized event where people get together to eat cake and talk about death. It is an opportunity for exchange of personal experiences thoughts and ideas. It is a safe place to talk and not have anyone teach or preach but instead just share.
